Description
Tektronix 475 Oscilloscope
The Tektronix 475 oscilloscope is an upgraded version of the very popular 465 and 465B, offering double the bandwidth (200 MHz), while retaining a very similar set of controls and operations. This unit comes with two new 200 MHz X1/X10 selectable probes. Ready to go as soon as it’s unpacked.
Calibration and test
I performs a FULL calibration per the factory procedure. It’s possible to claim calibration on the basis of checking that the unit is within its performance specification, and tweak those items that are off. That makes sense in an ongoing, industrial, quality controlled situation where drift over time is monitored. However, you’re seeing this unit for the first time and have no past history for it. You’ll want to start with something as close to spec as possible. For that reason. I go through each setting and optimize it to the greatest degree that I can. You’re getting a scope that’s as close to factory specified performance as I can make it.
I take pride in my work
It takes several thousand dollars worth of specialized test equipment to properly calibrate these instruments in accordance with the factory instructions, and the calibration procedure runs to nearly 50 pages, I’ve made the investment in both money and time because I take pride in my work and want to do it right. I also want you to be satisfied, which is why I offer returns if you’re not satisfied with the product you’ve purchased.
Appearance
Cosmetically, this Tektronix 475 oscilloscope is in decent shape, but does have some chips, dings, and scratches. I’ve placed high resolution photos in my listing so you can see exactly what you’re getting. I’d like to call your attention to the cord wrap on the back, which also serves as feet when stood on end. These feet are in good shape, which is somewhat uncommon as on many units out there they are brittle and have broken with age.
